Visa Information:
Traveling into India for foreign nationals … acquisition of a visa is necessary. They are obtainable at the Indian Missions, Consulates and High Commissions Overseas. Visas are valid usually between range periods of 15 days to six months.
Once obtained, visas can be extended in India, (depending on the application) at the local "Foreigners Registration Office" located in every major city in India. In Goa it is located at the Police Headquarters in Panaji.
Health Precautions in India:
Tropical diseases run rampant in a tropical country like India…but with just a bit of care and regulated precautions…an Indian holiday... especially in the Goan sun will be etched forever in your memory hard drive.
Most diseases found here are endemic…Hepatitis, Malaria, Meningitis, Typhoid, Tuberculosis are some that tend to pose a major health hazard to the passing tourist. It is worth your while to get the proper vaccinations and immunizations prior your trip.
It is recommended to carry a strong mosquito repellant and drink and eat only in places which are tried, tested and recommended.
A happy trip is always a healthy one.
Drugs
You don’t need Goa just for its trance party’s or drugs…Goa is essentially about just having a good time. You can swim, eat good food, meet interesting people, make music, check out the sunsets and walk in the moonlight without going near the psychedelic scene.
The place does have strong anti drug policies…and so does Sunburn. The punishment under this Act…ranges from 6 months to a maximum of 30 yrs… depending upon the nature of the offences.
It would be tragic to get stuck in this unending cycle in such a fabulous place…so a No Drug policy is the best way to be.
